The Retreat
For the past nine years, Yoga Kiran has been guiding seekers on a journey that is not just outward into the majestic Himalayas – but inward, into the deepest layers of the self. These retreats have become sacred and neutral spaces where people from all walks of life come to pause, reflect, and reconnect – with nature, with the breath, and with their own inner wisdom. This is not just a walk through breathtaking landscapes, but a pilgrimage of presence—a rare call for the sincere, for those ready to slow down, shed distractions, and reconnect with nature, their breath, their body, and the deeper truth of their being.
This October, we return once again to one of the most spiritually potent regions of India — tracing the path of the sacred Ganga from her early flow in Uttarkashi, through the stillness of Gangotri, and all the way to the glacial origin at Gaumukh and the breathtaking meadows of Tapovan.
This is not a holiday. It is a pilgrimage of presence, an invitation to step into the rhythm of a more conscious life.
Together, we learn and unlearn. Reflect. Dissolve. Feel. Connect.

You are the formless, the unchanging, the vast sky of consciousness.”

View Uttarkashi
Uttarkashi
Dates : 21st & 22nd May 2026
Altitude: 1,150 m
We begin in Uttarkashi (1,158 m), where the Bhagirathi – the first stream of Ma Ganga – flows steadily beside a peaceful ashram that will be our home for the first few days. At this lower altitude, we gently prepare the body and mind through holistic yoga, asana, movement, breathwork and meditation. We explore yoga as a living, holistic system – one that touches every aspect of daily life: nutrition, sleep, stress, emotions, hormonal balance, and the deeper questions of life.
View Gangotri
Gangotri
Dates : 23rd & 24th May 2026
Altitude: 3,100 m
As we gradually ascend to Gangotri (3,100 m), allowing our bodies to acclimatize and our minds to slow down, we enter a realm where the sacred and the everyday merge. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and deodar forests, Gangotri marks the mythic origin of the Ganga’s descent, with the white marble Ganga Mandir by the Bhagirathi River at its spiritual heart. Here, witnessing the aarti and meeting monks who live in caves nearby offers a glimpse into a life of deep simplicity and devotion. We pause at the tranquil village of Harsil, known for its serene beauty, apple orchards, and riverside calm – a perfect stop to absorb the stillness of the mountains.
View Gaumukh
Gaumukh
Dates : 25th to 26th May 2026 ( 27th May, Evening back to Gangotri )
Altitude: 3,780 m
We then journey to Bhojbasa (3,780 m), the final campsite before reaching the sacred glacier of Gaumukh (4,023 m), where the mighty Ganga emerges from the snout of the glacier in a roar both ancient and awe-inspiring. Nestled in the wide, open valley carved by time and ice, Bhojbasa offers a rare stillness – where we stay in comfortable accommodations (either a cozy lodge or Swiss tents with beds and blankets) embraced by the silence of the high Himalayas. Just a few meters away, the Bhagirathi River flows clear and strong, its icy waters tracing their first steps into the plains. The vastness of the sky here is humbling – by day, deep blue and endless; by night, a theatre of stars. With little light pollution and crisp, clear air, stargazing at Bhojbasa becomes a sacred ritual – where constellations feel just an arm’s reach away, and each breath draws you deeper into the timeless rhythm of the mountains. The air is sharp, the land bare, and the purity of this region lingers in your memory like a prayer whispered to the wind.

Accommodation
Your journey with us offers an authentic Himalayan immersion, with each stay echoing the spirit of the sacred land. In Uttarkashi and Gangotri, we reside inpeaceful riverside ashramsbeside the Bhagirathi, with clean rooms and serene yoga spaces. At Bhojbasa, we will stay for one night in either a lodge or Swiss tents with beds, blankets, and basic bathrooms amidst stark mountain beauty. And in Tapovan, we stay in a hand-built stone cottage – the only shelter at 14,000 ft – crafted by a solitary monk devoted to sadhana for over a decade. Each space is more than shelter – it is part of the pilgrimage.
