Retreat into Stillness

The retreat

We will not just practice yoga āsana but experience holistic yoga as a way of transformation.

Three days of classical yogic wisdom, immersing in health & lifestyle practices and talks, slow nature walks and visits to ancient temples in the Western Ghats, held in a hill-station club that has kept its stillness alive since 1881.

An invitation to slow down, reconnect with your breath and return to yourself — through traditional yoga, mindful breathing, reflective circles and walks along mist-kissed paths.

For ten years Yoga Kiran has held retreats across India that weave yogic wisdom into modern life: expanding awareness of body, mind and lifestyle, and of the patterns that keep us from living fully. You leave rested, and with tangible takeaways.

Your facilitator

Born in Varanasi, Nidhi is a student and teacher of traditional Aṣṭāṅga and Haṭha yoga. She is also a certified yoga therapist. For over a decade, she has been facilitating retreats, workshops and online programmes that bring together movement, breath, meditation and yogic philosophy.

Her approach is holistic, integrating the principles of yoga with lifestyle medicine to help people improve their health and manage, and in some cases potentially reverse, chronic health conditions through sustainable changes in lifestyle, sleep, nutrition and emotional well-being.

Beyond her yoga practice, Nidhi engages in strength training, mindful eating and the study of lifestyle medicine, weaving these disciplines into her teachings. She encourages her students to listen to their bodies, embrace an unhurried way of life, and cultivate inner silence (mauna) and mindful living.

Before following her heart back to India, Nidhi worked in the corporate world in the United Kingdom and Europe. Her journey from corporate life to the study and practice of yoga continues to inform her understanding of health, self-inquiry and the art of living consciously.

The venue

The Mahabaleshwar Club, India

One of India’s oldest surviving heritage clubs, founded in 1881 by British Army officers seeking rest in the Western Ghats. Ancient trees, tended flowerbeds, cool mountain air — a place to simply be silent, listen to the wind and the breath.

Surrounded by the Sahyādri range, its Sanskrit name translates to mountain of endurance & patience.

Who it is for

For anyone who feels called to slow down, reconnect with nature, embrace silence, and explore the wisdom of holistic yoga as a way of life — integrating its principles into everyday living, both on and off the mat.
